24 Karat Gold means gold that is 99.9% pure, or 999 parts per thousand. 24K is the pure gold favoured for investment and bullion, and is VAT zero-rated as investment gold in the UAE. All karats are priced against the LBMA spot and then adjusted for gold content.

How the price is calculated
The calculation starts from the LBMA spot per pure ounce, divides by 31.1035 for the pure gram price, then multiplies by the purity (99.9%) to get the 24 Karat Gold gram value. For a tola we multiply by 11.6638, for an ounce by 31.1035 and for a kilo by 1000.
